I made MaryJanes Chocolate Chip cookies!

I got this recipe as a jar mix from one of the MaryJanes gals, Victoria from Texas.  I showed a photo of that mix a couple of weeks ago when I received it in a beautifully decorated jar.  Wowsers.  What a wonderful gift.  I added butter and eggs, and this afternoon hubby and I enjoyed the final result.  Yummy.  For the recipe see page 19 of the February-March issue of MaryJanesFarm Magazine.

Hubby!  He hawls the cow manure compost, and digs and does the hard work.  We plant the seeds and water and weed.  It is nice to have him around!!!

Teepee built in a day! :)

In the center is an iron pole used to hang flowering baskets.  Around all sides were shorter metal pieces of fencing that stick into the ground.  Then, with the use of sheets and chip clips, we had the walls!  It was big enough to stand up in for the princesses and they even got the floor swept and towels laid down for sitting.  Oldest grand wants to learn all about Indians of yore.  She gathered berries, and the grown-ups sat on the porch and pretended we were the white settlers nearby.  FUN.....  Chocolate donuts were involved later when the Indians came to visit the settlers.

Snap peas planted with help of two princesses.......

Yesterday was a sunny, cool and lovely day.  The grandchildren and my DD came to spend the afternoon and we stayed outdoors.  We planted two small plots of sugar snap seeds, watered it profusely (I was worried the seed would float to the surface) and built a teepee in the back.  Photo of teepee to follow!  Two princesses helped, along with pop pop and mommy.  Pocohontas and a pink princess who calls herself Prancing Deer made me aware that anytime in the future I want the garden planted, I know who to call. 

One of the best finds I ever found...

On MaryJanesFarm we were recently sharing about the best finds we have gotten over the years as we went to thrift stores or garage sales.  In 1976, I went to an estate sale in Thomasville, Georgia.  On the back porch of a vero old Victorian home, inside a big trunk, I found this quilt.  I paid $3.00.  I brought it home and did a little mending, and have kept it all these years.  It is called a postage stamp quilt, because all the little separately pieced squares are so small.  I love the vintage fabrics, and though it is a little faded in one corner where it was folded, it is in pretty good but delicate shape.

Seriously....the best Farmgirl Friend ever!

On MaryJanesFarm, we have an exchange of fun whenever a new issue comes out.  This month, it was a Valentine issue and included a page called Things We Love (Chocolate Chip Cookies).  Well, my wonderful farmgirl friend, Victoria, made a jar mix of the chocolate chip cookie recipe in the mag!!!!  She even sent me spoons, vanilla and hot pads, plus the recipe.  All co-ordinated and lovely and creative.  Absolutely amazing, and what a wonderful gift idea for future giving.  All the dry ingredients are in the jar and then she listed what was to be added.  Hey, Victoria, why didn't you send the eggs and butter?  :)   Thank you so much!!!  I hope MaryJane sees this.

People taking photos......or videos of others

They always look happy when they are taking photos or videos of loved ones.  What a treasure!  This is my DD again, taking a video of her daughter at the school Christmas program. 

The big sisters are paprazzi

Little man turns one year old, and big sisters capture it all.  Here he generously mugs it up for the various cameras being aimed at him.  It is good to be a star!!!  More photos of people taking photos of people!!  Love it.

I love to take photos of people taking photos. I don't know why, but it is fascinating to watch their expressions as they try to get everyone in and make it look nice....this is my DD taking a timed outdoor family photo on Thanksgiving.
