Ruth Ann's Quilt

Only a month to go until the little gal arrives, and I still have soooo much stitching to do.  But here it is, all pieced, and now quilting is underway.  I love the piecing part the best, so this is a little more like work to me, and less like doing a puzzle.  The colors are really not so bland as the photo.  They are soft green, yellow, off-white and a little peachy pink in the fabrics.  I plan to sit in this chair a lot in the evenings to come.

Old Smoker's stand.....

This has been in the attic for years.  My sister gave it to me and thought that our dad made it in high school.  I do not think so.  It is old, but manufactured, I am almost sure.  It was in mom's house when we cleaned it after her passing.  I never remember seeing it while growing up.  I bet she picked it up somewhere after daddy died.  Cute, but I wish some of you farmgirls lived nearer, as you might take it off my hands.  I am ready to say bye-bye to it.  We don't have any old smokers in our house :)  And I am in the mood to let go of lots of stuff.  Still it is cute, and is lined with copper.  Why were they lined with copper?

New old table.....

Okay, so I gave my 30 year old round oak table and four chairs to my daughter when she moved into her new house.  She had the perfect place for it.  I was glad to see her have it, and glad to have the extra room in my fairly small kitchen.  So what do I do?  Barely 24 hours later, I find this table at an antique shop in Havana, Florida and home it comes.  But the good news is....it is small so if I get tired of it in the kitchen, I can pick it up and put it somewhere else.  It is made of chestnut, and very sturdy.  Probably turn of the last century.  It is already distressed on top and I love that.  I will not be picky if it gets scratched.  I love it, and now I have a little place to set things, when counter space runs low.

Hugging the gals.....

After shopping for ornaments at Christmas.  But the sweetest thing was Hannah spied a beautiful handmade blue scarf and HAD to get it for her mommy as a present.  And so we did.  Blessings!

Daughter gave me a vintage quilt for x-mas.......

And it came with a little boy inside!  Josiah is having fun playing peekaboo.  I love the quilt she found at an estate sale.  She almost kept it, but I am glad she did not!  It was my favorite gift this year.

Little House on the Prairie.....

Our little Hannah is the perfect prairie girl.  Here she is wearing the bonnet that was in her Christmas stocking.  She always wants to be Mary when they play Little House.  I found the bonnets in North Carolina! I think I want one for myself, too.   But I would not look nearly so cute.
