Things a child will remember someday.....

Picked up my granddaughter from school yesterday, and she said she did not eat her whole sandwich at lunch. This is very unusual, and I asked her why. She said her mommy had stamped a christmas tree into the bread, and so she deepened the stamp, and ate around the tree and saved it because it was too pretty to eat. So there it was in her lunch bag in a baggie, and I had to get it out and take this photo.
Busy mornings, getting little ones ready, and my daughter takes the time to make a special decoration on her daughter's sandwich. And the little girl, who dearly loves to eat, keeps it just to look at. That really touched my heart. On the way home, granddaughter said she wanted to grow up just like her mommy.

This story is one of my Christmas gifts I received this year. I am getting to the age where these moments really are the true gifts of life, and I mean that truly without meaning to be schmaltzy.
