Bread smells in the kitchen

I use my bread baker a lot....it makes better bread than my hands and the oven can! Here is the loaf of egg bread I made last night. Put it in, went out for pizza, and came home to a great smell in the house.

My third favorite rocker - but I love them all the same

Here is the third antique rocker that lives in our home which I love. It is vintage wicker, with seat springs and a padded pillow. Once again, Miss Wilma is the maker of the throw pillow on the seat. Love Miss Wilma!

I got this rocker in 1972. It was old then (it is probably from the early 1900's), and part of a group of 12 pieces that sold for 800.00. A wonderful girlfriend gave it to me to keep for awhile, and she never wanted it back.

I keep it inside the house to preserve it. Plus it is so comfy. It was my friend for many years in my garage apartment when I lived alone. Many hours were spent reading in it. Now it is in our bedroom and hubby uses it every day to put his socks on in the morning.

My other favorite rocker....

This rocker was hubby's grandmother's. It is probably about 80 years old. She rocked my hubby in it and he is almost 60.

The arms are still light oak from having human arms and hands on them...the rest of the finish has darkened as old oak finish will do. This one resides in the upstairs, and on it is another pillow I love. This pillow say "I hope you dance", and was a gift from MaryJane Butters.

This rocker is used to rock my grandbabies! (and to dream of dancing!) :)

Sharing Antique Rocker photos

On the MaryJanesFarm site, sweet Nancy Jo shared a photo of a rocker she got at the thrift. So I was moved to show my own little sewing rocker. It comes out of an historic house here in Tallahassee, and is Eastlake in design, probably from about 1910-1920.

I won it at a silent auction at our church/school, and had it recaned. I sit in it every day. The pillow came from the famous Miss Wilma, and I just love it too!

In the good ole summertime

Well, we do not have a fancy pool, but a tarp and water and two kids still amount to some fun. The girls really had a good time making mud pies and getting wet......then it was up on the porch to wrap in towels and have popcorn.

I got to sit in the porch rocker and enjoy watching youthful energy.

The blueberry farm

The blueberries are here again. And we went pickin'. Beare's Berries in Havana Florida. What a wonderful old couple runs this place and they are usually sitting under a big tree near the weigh station and will chat as long as you want.

We had a nice cool day this year, and there were lots of pink berries still to ripen. But we got about three pounds of nice dark blue ones, and I am making blueberry buckle this afternoon with two cups of them.

Nature's Bounty and dinner too

Tonight my hubby is gone to help Habitat for Humanity by doing a cookout, so I am on my own for dinner and made a wonderful salad. When I got done, I had the urge to take a photo of this year's tomatoes thus far. And there are plenty still on the vine, and we have shared bags full with several friends and our daughter. I just love veggie gardening!!!!! God is so good to provide us with this bounty and it tastes so yummy!
