Old Spinning Wheel

I could have made this photo a lot more interesting to look at, but I just took my old spinning wheel out of the attic, and hubby put it in the garage. It is very old, and I am sorry to say the heat of the attic crystalized the varnish, and now it is bumpy to touch.

Wondering if it can be fixed, or if it is best to leave it as is.

It originally came from the Delaware area of the country, and belonged to the grandmother of a former neighbor. She sold it to me many years ago. Are there any experts on spinning wheels out there?

I think I can. I think I can

I feel like he is thinking "If only I could take my hands off the floor one at a time!"

It won't be long now! He is up on his knees and even his toes, looking like a teepee! Trying to get it in gear for crawling.

My daughter's family

This is one of my daughter's favorite photos and I can see why. Her hubby and two daughters all look so happy here. Only one missing, besides her,is little Joisah, the 8 month old. But daddy loves his hugs from the girls. And we love him.

My favorite Bible Verse

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you may know Him better." Ephesians 1:17

That verse touches my heart, and holds great weight. At the central part of our walk with Him on this earth is the hope that we can know Him better, that he will give us wisdom and revelation, so that we will not wander off the path, and that our relationship with Him will grow deeper and more personal each day. Then we can serve Him as He wants us to.

Today I pray for my family, who are getting over colds, and for the other wonderful women who follow this site, and for blessings on this country.

Me and my sistah

Watch out for the mister that comes between me and my sister! Remember that song?

Here we are. Jannie and Jeannie. Love that gal.

We had so much fun when hubby and I were there two weeks ago. How I would love to be able to beam myself up and be there more often.

She is so sweet , my sister is.

Okay, now you have to look at the washer - another basket

This basket holds my stitching fabric. I found this over twenty-five years ago at an old barn shop called the Wickery. I love that the piece of entwined willow still anchors itself to the lid and the basket, so it can't be separated. Isn't that neat?
I put the basket on the washer so a general sense of it's size could be seen. Ignore the washer now. :)
