Purple treasure

So this is how our seasons here go - one day a fire at night, the next day a dragonfly of beautiful color in the garden. And yes, we do still have peppers and cucumbers and 2 tomato plants in the ground and growing.

That is the world of north Florida.

Hubby took this photo. I had never seen a purple dragonfly before. Usually they are shimmery like a rainbow.

It was a cozy fire...

And I made brownies to snack on while we sat by the fireplace. We did not turn on the TV, because we had someting to watch. But I did finish a book.

The wood was cut down and split by my hubby. We had big oak branches removed from one tree, another old oak taken down, and he took down two dogwoods. It has had good time to age. We have plenty of wood for the winter!

Cold enough last night for a fire.....

But we did not light one. Maybe tonight, and I will do popcorn too! 49 degrees last night! See the pumpkin? Who thinks it is real?

Found this wreath at 70% off and it looks so warm on the front door. I could not have made it myself for that, and since we do not have colored leaves yet, I could not go out in the yard and do it either! Come on in my front door and stay awhile.

Little friend on the mantle

I have one of these for each granddaughter - have not found one for the little guy yet. I just love fall and decorating the house with the colors of autumn. This is Abigail's special decoration.
